Hyde Park Woman Drove Impaired By Drugs With Child In Car, Town Of Poughkeepsie PD Says

A Hyde Park woman was arrested for allegedly driving while impaired by drugs with a child in the vehicle, Town of Poughkeepsie Police said.

Alicia A. Rabenda, 34, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, following a traffic stop on Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie, Capt. Kevin Faber said.

Once stopped, an investigation found that Rabenda was driving under the influence of drugs with a child in the vehicle, police said. The child was turned over to the care of a family member and a referral was made to Child Protective Services, Faber added.

She was charged under Leandra's Law with felony driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Rabenda is being held at the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash/$40,000 bond.
